The Upsetter, Little Lee, Scratch, whatever the name ONE thing is certain, Lee Perry has been at the centre of Jamaican music since the early 60's. Arranging, recording and producing artists such as the Wailers, Bob Marley, the Maytals, the Skatalites, the Heptones, Earl 16, Pat Kelly, Max Romeo, Leonard Dillon, Augustus Pablo and MANY more.

Always on the frontline And hugely influential in shaping the development of Jamaican music as it evolved from Ska through Rocksteady and into what became known, (much to his dislike), as 'Reggae'. First at Coxsone Dodd's Studio 1, then with Prince Buster, producers such as Joe Gibbs, Bunny Lee and King Tubby and at his legendary studio the Black Ark, (as well as involvement with divers artists such as the Clash and the Beastie boys).

For more than a decade between 1964 and 1978 the Upsetter was on fire and involved in recording, arranging, writing, producing and promoting some of the greatest, most respected and well recognised music to come out of Jamaica.

"The Upsetter don't come to upset the dance people. The Upsetter really come to upset the heads of government, the politicians and all the evil forces"
