in 1969 a young teenager named Horace Swaby was standing in Herman Chin Loy's 'Aquarius' record shop in Kingston holding a Melodica and when asked by the producer whether he could play it proceeded to blow a haunting melody. Chin Loy was so impressed that he booked a recording session at Randy's (North Parade) Studio the same week and the fruit of the session Iggy Iggy was soon on the shelves of Jamaica’s record shops, shacks and stalls. Seminal cuts East of the River Nile and Java soon followed and the Far East Sound was launched. Herman Chin Loy had already released sessions using a name which he stuck with and the teenager formally known as Horace Swaby forever after became known as Augustus Pablo.

A MAJOR creative force during the 1970‘s Pablo recorded and released some of the finest Reggae of the period on his own Rockers label as well as collaborating with heavyweights such as King Tubby, Lee Perry, Dillinger, The Heptones, Horace Andy and Bob Marley before moving into producing cats such as Hugh Mundell, the trio Tetrack, Junior Delgado and Yami Bolo.
