Tuff Scout is an Independent London label recording, releasing and distributing prime slices of 21st Century roots Reggae. It’s principle architect has lived and breathed Jamaica’s greatest export since the mid 70’s when it ignited on the streets of London to speak to a whole generation of disenfranchised youth who connected to it’s message of positivity and freedom combined with revolution and overt anti establishment attitude.
Reggae is music made by the people for the people with little or no regard for commercialism and Tuff Scout carries on the tradition of recording and releasing conscious music for the Soulrebel community. Artists such as Big Youth, Papa Levi, Robert Lee, Al Campbell, Sowell Radics, Horace Martin and Eccleton Jarrett have all featured along the way and helped to make Tuff Scout not only London’s #1 roots label but also one of my own personal favourites.
